This stamp relates to a lot of you, I reckon. You guys need to step out of your comfort zone and learn to draw something new. Just drawing one thing doesnt get you anywhere in life, this is even more important if you want to use art in your career because you have to being able to draw everything. Like I mean, sure, if it's just a hobbie then whatever, go ahead, be boring and learn one thing. But it makes drawing more interesting if you range your abilities. People who look at your stuff will also think you're a really good artist because they're not looking at the same old thing. In 2007/early 2008, people didn't ... really think I was that good anymore. Like my grade 7 teacher was like "Oh you should draw something new." and being the retarded fuckwit I was, I had a hissyfit about it and told everyone I can draw whatever the hell I want but wtf. LOL
Anyway, you're probably going, "But you have a lot of wolves in your gallery." Yes, I may have a lot of wolves, but in my sketch books I draw more than wolves; I draw humans, felines, birds and stuff. Besides, I even stated in my journal that I am going to be sending some human pictures in.
So, learning how to draw different things really benefits you, I mean, sure you're really amazingly awesome at wolves/ horses whatever, but when you (if you're using art as your career) go have an interview with an employer like Pixar or something, there is no chance in hell they're going to hire you if all you can draw is cute, wittle wolfies ^_^_^_^_^ Stop being fucking lazy and draw something else, sure, you're not going to be as great as you are at wolves or whatever at first, but with practise you get better! That's the whole point in drawing; you practise, you get better, more practise and you get even better.
I used to be a 'canine artist' in 2007; I only drew wolves and stuff. Then in 2008, I came to my senses, thanks to my friends, and thought "wtf am I doing" and I started drawing humans and other animals and stuff. I am quite proud of my progression with humans and stuff at the moment. geirghaeiurhg. /end rant LOL
ANYWAY lol I AM LISTENING TO HAPPY FEET MUSIC YEAHHHH so anyway, feel free to use.
Amen. |D lol I think I'm going through withdrawls at the moment because I like to draw wolves but really want to post other stuff in my gallery. Like you, I have tons of other stuff in my sketch books, but sadly, there are still a lot of wolves. My parents were also agreeing saying how I should try deer (my dad's advice bc he's a hunter xD) or other animals or people. AND I find myself unadaquately expressed through wolves. I mean, it seems ridiculous to me to draw a wolf crying over something that can only happen to a human or some situation I'm going though.
It's like if I point to it and say "Yup, that's me!..." and people would just not understand why I drew myself as a wolf to express emotion...it just seems a little on the odd side. But don't get me wrong, I've found some really awesome emotional pics where wolves were the center character but the effects and technique was gorgeous! But it still ends with me on how I feel: I can't express myself with a wolf! lol sometimes, but not for everything...and it gets tiring sometimes. So in fact, at the moment, I am working on a non-wolf project x3
Sorry I ramble xD But I totally agree with everything you said, and especially about the interviews. Are you planning on majoring in art??

it really gets on my nerves when people draw nothing but the same damn thing, especially wolves. cause those scene sparkledawg pics all look the same to me. and if they want a career related to art they gotta work to that, it won't just come flying to them. and fuck those "but i wanna work for dreamworks", "gonna be an animator/cartoonist/comic book guy", seriously, grow up.

..yeah I agree with you even though I draw ALOOT of canines. I just want to get good at wolves or whatever first so I dont have to do it later.(I am not that happy with my style.) because latley I have been struggling with drawing canines front on so I am still practising that. But once I am ATLEAST a little capable of doing that then I am going to move on to gryphons, cats, birds, horses, dragons and humans. Even my mum has been saying latley 'Oh you should draw something other then a wolf.' so yeah.
